A0B1 — CAS: Selector Lever / Clutch Input Implausible

The CAS module cannot make sense of the input it uses to authorize starting. On a manual R56 that input is the clutch switch circuit, so this code usually describes a wiring or switch problem rather than an engine fault.

Common causes on MINI

  • Failed or misadjusted clutch switch
  • Aftermarket clutch switch bypass
  • Damaged wiring between the clutch switch and CAS
  • Previously cloned or replaced CAS module coded incorrectly
