2C57 Charging Pressure Control, Plausibility Pressure Too Low

The DME compared requested boost with measured charge pressure and found the measured value implausibly low. It records that the charge-air side did not build or hold the pressure the engine management system asked for; it does not name the part responsible.

Common causes on MINI

  • Boost leak in the charge-air path, including hoses and clamps
  • Cut-off, diverter or blow-off valve not sealing or stuck open
  • Wastegate control fault
  • Charge-air pressure sensor reading incorrectly
  • Turbocharger mechanical wear
